Julie graduated with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Nutrition, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics from the University of Otago. She is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and holds membership with the Dietetic Association of Australia. She has also been a member of the British Health Professions Council, British Dietitian Association and New Zealand Dietetic Association.
Julie has extensive experience and proficiency with the nutrition management of obesity having worked alongside leading surgeons in private practices in both New Zealand and England, and in large National Health Specialty Bariatric centres in London. During this time she has also developed skills in other areas of gastrointestinal nutrition including dietary counselling for gastro-oesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease and conditions requiring dietary modification, such as gastrectomy surgery.
Julie assesses and educates a wide variety of patients about the best nutrition plan for their health. She is passionate about delivering the highest level of care by providing practical, individualised, evidence based advice and is dedicated to her role in supporting the medical team in achieving the best outcomes for clients.
Julie can support you with both surgical and non-surgical weight loss, provide dietary advice for symptom management of gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome, or give guidance and counselling to help minimise weight loss and optimise nutritional intake before and after surgery of the oesophagus and stomach.
